This year, our Hearts & Hands Auction theme is, "It Takes a Village." This proverb truly describes how Ridgewood School's amazing families, faculty, staff, Business Partners in Education, and additional supporters work together on behalf of its students. This major fundraiser makes it possible for area children who have great financial need to attend our Pre-K through 8th grade, college-preparatory school. Ridgewood School is a highly-diversified school providing an integrated STEM Plus curriculum, foreign language instruction beginning in kindergarten, a dedicated fine and performing arts component, as well as a robust community-service program. Our students from the four-county area, Clark, Champaign, Greene, and Madison counties, thrive in a caring environment, as Ridgewood School embraces and practices inclusion and equity on a daily basis. With the pandemic disrupting 2 school years for our students and faculty we have been forced to reflect on the most important aspects of educating our young students in the safest environment possible. As a result we utilized our beautiful outdoor spaces on our 7 acre campus. This was a highlight for both our students and faculty and contributed to our ability to remain in person all year. In keeping with our mission, vision, and values we wish to create a Zen Playground for our students. Once you read about our intended project we are certain you will want to help us make this happen. Features include: Zen sand raking area, barefoot sensory path, water play area, explorative play garden, balancing logs, creative play/sensory building areas, creative musical area, and many more opportunities!
This unique, Reggio inspired outdoor play-scape will create an opportunity for children to experience sensory learning, peaceful activities, growth mindset, centering, and explorative play. As well as engaging them with opportunities to create, grow plants, learn about the environment, discover Zen experiences, and even create outdoor music.

All auction items need to be picked up at Ridgewood School, 2420 Saint Paris Pike, Springfield, on Monday, May 24 or Tuesday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless other arrangements have been previously made with Ridgewood School.
Out-of-area winners, please call the school at 937.399.8900, to make shipping arrangements, at buyer's expense.
